It’s official, the styles of the 80’s and early 90’s are back in vogue this season boasting chunky statement necklaces, bangles and earrings. My personal favorite!

Four decades ago, bigger was best. Large earrings, layered bangles and a fabulous brooch for your blazer was how to make a statement. A delicate piece of jewelry was no match for shoulder pads and coiffed hair coated with Extra Super Hold Aquanet hairspray.
When you hear the word brooch, most people think of their grandmother. Mine loved a good brooch. But a lovely pin isn’t just an outerwear accessory. Some brooches are multifunctional and can be worn as a pin or a pendant. Many have a hinged or hidden bale that can be added to a chain, giving the piece an entirely new look that doubles as a statement necklace!

As a child of the 80’s, my favorite fad accessory was the plastic charm necklaces. What better way to pay homage to this nostalgic trend than to create your own meaningful charm necklace or bracelet using vintage charms and a simple gold link bracelet or chain.
